Shurtleff proposes bill to ban ‘bump stock’ devices in NH

New Hampshire House Democratic Leader Steve Shurtleff said Friday it is time for “bump stock” multi-trigger activators to be outlawed in the Granite State.

Shurtleff, a Vietnam veteran who is now in his seventh term in the House, said he will try to introduce a bill for the 2018 legislative session to ban use of the device, which was used by the shooter, Stephen Paddock, in last Sunday’s mass shooting in Las Vegas. | More…

Students Display “Alt-Right” Flag at NH School Pep Rally

A flag associated with white supremacy and the alt-right movement displayed at a Conant High School pep rally has caused the Superintendent of the Jaffrey-Rindge School District to send a letter to all Conant families.

In a letter dated Sept. 29, Superintendent Reuben Duncan said the district needs to “look very closely at our own culture and analyze how we operate,” after the displaying of the flag led “to a disturbance within the school setting.” *| More…

Dartmouth Liquor Ban, Sexual Assaults, and Drug Arrests

Hanover — Dartmouth College’s annual campus safety report for 2016 shows little change in most key crime statistics, except for a slight drop in arrests and internal sanctions for alcohol violations.
