Ed Naile: Judicial Government Education Funding Extortion Marches On

In New Jersey, the State Supreme Court is once again, as has been the norm since 1972, ordering more spending on government schools.

The first case, Robinson v. Cahill 1972, opened Pandora’s Spending Box for schools – without any requirements to measure “progress.” But when Progress is measured by increased spending and removing away local control you could say the progressives won hands down.

Here we are in 2017 and once again a politically active progressive State Supra is legislating and spending from the bench. As we knew they would.

The first education funding scam was instrumental in the creation of the 1978 New Jersey State Income Tax. This income tax was the panacea for education spending in government schools – which are still without a court ordered increased educational results, for some reason. | More…

Jeff Sessions Ends Obama-Era Settlement Slush Fund for Progressive NGO’s

Attorney General Jeff Sessions this week sent a memo to top Justice Department officials declaring that, effective immediately, “Department attorneys may not enter into any agreement” that would direct punitive payments to non-victim third party organizations.

Sessions’ order halts an Obama-era scheme that allowed government bureaucrats to build a slush fund of money collected via fines collected from corporate bad actors and distribute the money to non-governmental advocacy organizations.

As a result, millions of dollars that otherwise would have been allocated to the Treasury were diverted to groups on the government’s approved list of recipients, which included several liberal activist organizations such as The National Council of La Raza, The National Urban League, The National Community Reinvestment Coalition and NeighborWorks America, among others. | More…

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen descendant of Pocahontas: Would be “sensitive topic” to tell Liz Warren

The effectiveness of that branding was evident in a CNN interview with New Hampshire Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen, who claims to be a direct descendant of Pocahontas and to have the family ancestry documented. Pocahontas allegedly was Shaheen’s 11th Great Grandmother.

CNN raise the Pocahontas ancestry with Shaheen, and then dropped the bomb, whether Shaheen had mentioned it to Elizabeth Warren:

Q. Have you told Elizabeth Warren?

A. Kind of a sensitive topic, so probably not.

Lebanon NH Changes Master Plan To Ensure Higher Electric Rates

The Lebanon City Council voted Wednesday to amend the city’s master plan, removing references to natural gas as a favored energy source. The move is largely symbolic, but it reflects growing concern around the environmental impact of natural gas.

Residents in the Upper Valley are organizing to fight a proposal by Liberty Utilities for a new natural gas facility and pipeline running through Lebanon and Hanover. The state Public Utilities Commission is slated to hear that proposal in September. | More…
