RTKNH receives Loeb First Amendment Award

The Union Leader reports that Right to Know NH is this year’s recipient of the Nackey S. Loeb First Amendment Award.  The award will be presented on October 5, 2017 at the Palace Theater in Manchester, NH.  The event will also feature attorney Gregory V. Sullivan who will receive the Quill & Ink Award and story-teller Garrison Keillor of “A Prairie Home Companion” radio show.  The event is a fundraiser for the Nackey S. Rep. Karen Umberger: Short-term rentals are subject to NH rooms and meals tax

To the editor:

Summer vacation is winding down and the tourists are starting to think about other things.

I need to remind anyone who has rented their property over the summer or during ski season through Airbnb, vacations rentals or any of the other online service that lists your home, condo, apartment, etc. for a short term rental, you need to pay New Hampshire rooms and meals tax.

Germany bans antifa website for legitimizing violence.

The Federal Interior Ministry has banned what it describes as the most influential internet platform for the militant left in Germany. The move is believed to be in response to violence outside the G20 in Hamburg last month.

Authorities informed the management of the website linksunten.indymedia.org on Friday that they were shutting it down, DPA has learned from sources inside the ministry.

Security sources claim that the website is the most influential platform for the militant left, and that it is used as a forum by extremists willing to use violence. | More…

NH man accused of sexually assaulting girl over 11 years at home, mall, YMCA

WINDHAM — A man has been indicted on 11 counts of sexual assault of a minor for more than 11 years.

Julian Azibert, 38, of Windham, is accused of sexually abusing a young girl from age 6 to age 18.

According to court documents, Azibert performed oral sex on the victim and made her give him oral sex several times in a dressing room at the Mall of New Hampshire. | More…
