Candia selectmen revise Right-to-Know policy

CANDIA — A new policy to clarify Right-to-Know requests in town was approved by selectmen earlier this week.

The new policy, which will be available at the town offices as well as on the town’s website, spells out how to file a request and provides a form for those making a request. More…

Cop asks me to prove I’m innocent of a non-crime. (Goffstown, NH).

‘Goffstown police continue the campaign to manipulate me into answering questions after I’m accused of trespassing at a prison. But they at least seem to be doing me the courtesy of arguing with me as an equal. Their lights interfere with the cam.’

Trump taps Gardner for ‘election integrity’ panel

President Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order establishing an “election integrity” commission, featuring New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner, to examine voting procedures and steps to preserve the integrity of U.S. elections.

NH House: Sherry Frost’s dishonest and cowardly ethics hearing

Today a hearing was held by the New Hampshire House Legislative Committee who is looking into controversial online statements made by Democrat Representative Sherry Frost (Dover). Frost has made denigrating, vulgar and violent comments towards fellow legislators since January. There were complaints but if Minority Leader Shurtleff actually told her there are standards for how state representatives behave, Frost certainly didn’t follow them. More..

Ethics Panel Dismisses Complaint Against Sununu Over Waterville Twitter Selfie

U.S. government posts $182 billion surplus in April

Don’t get too excited. It’s still all cluster.

The U.S. government had a $182 billion budget surplus in April, confounding market expectations for a deficit, according to Treasury Department data released on Wednesday.

The budget surplus was $106 billion in April 2016, according to Treasury’s monthly budget statement. More…

Hanover Becomes First New Hampshire Town to Commit to 100% Renewables

The town of Hanover, New Hampshire voted Tuesday night to establish a goal of transitioning to 100 percent clean and renewable energy by 2050. The article approved at Tuesday’s town meeting sets a community-wide goal of transitioning to 100 percent renewable electricity by 2030 and a 2050 goal of transitioning heating and transportation to run on clean, renewable sources of energy. Another New Hampshire legislator switches to the Libertarian Party

Joseph Stallcop, a state representative from Cheshire County district four, switched from the Democratic Party to the Libertarian Party on May 10.

He is the second New Hampshire legislator to switch to the Libertarian Party. Caleb Dyer of Pelham switched to the LP from the Republican Party in February. More…
