State police identify body found floating in Hampton Harbor in July as Florida man

CONCORD — New Hampshire State Police have released the name of a Florida man whose body was pulled from Hampton Harbor last month, hoping it leads to more information in the investigation into his death.

Roland Gilles Chiasson, 65, was found by a bridge operator who saw the body floating in the harbor near the Hampton River bridge on July 29, state police said Thursday. | More…

Police Warn of Counterfeit Tablets With Fentanyl

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire State Police are alerting the public to tablets that look like oxycodone, but contain fentanyl, potentially creating an overdose hazard.

The Narcotics and Investigations unit says investigators have seized large quantities of tan-colored tablets marked “M30.” The marking is typically found on 30-milligram oxycodone tablets. However, the tablets are supposed to be blue. | More…

Are There Secret Archaeological Sites In N.H.?

According to New Hampshire’s Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer Richard Boisvert, there’s a “confidential” list of sites, but she stopped short of calling it “secret.”

“It’s available to people who have a reason to know and this would be the land owners and it would be professional archaeologists who are doing the necessary research in advance of construction so that they can know where sites are located before they even go into the field.”

Coyle resigns as Londonderry prosecutor – Walks away With nearly $86K

LONDONDERRY — Londonderry Police Prosecutor Kevin Coyle resigned late last week after more than 20 years with the department for undisclosed reasons, according to a separation agreement between the Derry resident and the town.

Coyle served his last day as prosecutor on Aug. 2. He was given a lump sum payment of $85,889, according to a separation agreement signed by Coyle and Town Council Chair Tom Dolan. *| More…

Portsmouth flagger hit by SUV with ‘TRUMP1’ plates

PORTSMOUTH — Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash report from a traffic flagger, who said he was injured by a driver with a “TRUMP1” license plate who fled the scene.

Patrol officers and firefighters responded to the area of the Plains ball field on Tuesday at about 4:30 p.m. when the flagger reported being hit by someone driving a PT Cruiser with the New Hampshire vanity tag. Police Sgt. Eric Kinsman said the incident remains under investigation and no one had been charged by Wednesday morning.
