New Hampshire’s Hassan Administration Fallout Continues

Current Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut estimates $3 million could be at risk, and says he’s corrected the way the state accounts for the grant money.

Accepting money from the federal government always comes with strings attached. If Uncle Sam is writing the check, he can prescribe what the states spend it on, and how they account for it. Hassan’s education department didn’t tell local school districts how to do their homework, which could cost us $3 million.

It’s just the latest example of Hassan’s sloppy administration of state government. State departments were a mess under her watch, and she bolted for Washington while leaving taxpayers with the bill.* |Read more at Union Leader.com

A commission to study the legalization, regulation, and taxation of marijuana in New Hampshire held its first meeting last week with considerable fanfare, even though not much happened.

More substantive action on the marijuana front was taken just a few days earlier, when five members of the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee voted 3-2 to recommend “ought to pass” on HB 656, a full-boat legalization bill. | Keep Reading at New Hampshire.com

Manchester: David Scannell and the Land of Make Believe

The race for school board in Ward 2 is the kind of contest that makes most political observers cringe and giggle.  It features venerable incumbent Debra Gagnon Langton and her opponent David Scannell, a self-aggrandizing leftist ideologue willing to say anything to make himself look relevant, if not impressive.  A former aide to Mayor Robert A. Baines, former Executive Director of the New Hampshire Democratic Party and an English teacher, Scannell’s had a lot of time and practice mastering the Art of Deception.

As proof, let’s take a look at just one of the propaganda pieces he’s published. | Keep Reading at Girard at Large
