A 37-year-old woman was killed by lightning in Colorado Sunday, the first lightning-related death of the year, according to the National Weather Service.

The woman was riding a horse in Douglas County, south of Denver. The lightning strike also killed the horse and injured a 15-year-old girl.  More…
