Nashua attorney asks court to dismiss spending cap lawsuit

A city attorney is denying allegations that aldermen violated the city charter when they recently adopted a city ordinance that will allow the annual budget to exceed the spending cap without the required 10 votes.

In court documents, Steve Bolton, corporation counsel for the city, describes the allegations filed in a civil lawsuit against the city as “extraneous,” saying city officials deny any wrongdoing and are asking the court to dismiss the litigation. More…
