Trump Frees States To Deny Funding to Planned Parenthood

President Donald Trump privately signed a bill on Thursday that allows states to withhold federal money from organizations that provide abortion services, including Planned Parenthood, a group frequently targeted by Republicans.

The bill, which the usually camera-friendly President signed without any media present, reverses an Obama-era regulation that prohibited states from withholding money from facilities that perform abortions, arguing that many of these facilities also provide other family planning and medical services. New England Nightmare: Small Seasonal Businesses Desperate for Workers

Yesterday, on one of the first warm days of the spring season, Steve Faulkner was busy gearing up for peak season in the landscaping industry in New Hampshire. Faulkner owns Faulkner Landscaping and Nursery in Hooksett. While Faulkner should be excited about the new season as he and his employees prepare for the onslaught of landscaping construction contracts, maintenance and the avid gardening customers shopping in his nursery, he was not.  Keep Reading…

US Drops the “Mother of all Bombs” on ISIS

The US military has dropped the biggest non-nuclear bomb in its arsenal on an Islamic State group tunnel complex in Afghanistan, the Pentagon says.

The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), known as “the mother of all bombs”, was first tested in 2003, but had not been used before in combat.

The Pentagon said it was dropped from a US aircraft in Nangarhar province. More…

China Kicks North Korean Coal to the Curb, Buys it From America Instead

China is banning shipments of coal from North Korea because of last week’s missile test and has made up the shortfall by importing more coal from the United States.  …

Reuters first reported Tuesday that China’s customs department ordered all companies that receive imports from North Korea to immediately return all coal cargoes, according to three trading sources who saw the order. The order was sent by the Chinese government on April 7, soon after Trump and Xi concluded their discussions. More…

New Hampshire Senate Rewrites Decriminalization Bill to Suit Law Enforcement’s Agenda

Last month, the New Hampshire House passed a bill that aimed to decriminalize possession of an ounce or less of cannabis – as well as up to five grams of hashish. The bill passed with a vote of 318-36, and was sent over to the Senate for review. Unfortunately, in the past the Senate has not been quite as keen on the idea of decriminalizing marijuana (the reason New Hampshire is the only state left in the New England area who has yet to do so), and this time things are starting out shakier than people would have liked. More…

SNHU Pulls Ads from O’Reilly Factor

If Sexual Harassment is really a concern they might want to stop advertising on TV altogether.

Southern New Hampshire University said it pulled its advertising from Bill O’Reilly’s Fox News TV show after receiving requests from students.

“We’ve received positive feedback from across the SNHU community” for ending commercials on “The O’Reilly Factor” starting April 4, said Lauren Keane, SNHU’s director of communications, in an email Wednesday. More…

How HUD’s AFFH Affects New Hampshire!

If you have already had your town meetings (some may not have) you may have noticed items on the ballot that came directly from the town’s “master plan”. Many of the ideas and goals put forth in the “master plan” came directly from the regionalists who adopt ideas from central planning organizations (NGOs) , the same folks who are dedicated to the federal “sustainable” agenda and somehow have millions of dollars of lobbying money to push it. White House Reaches Out to New Hampshire

President Donald Trump has yet to return to New Hampshire since the election, but the White House political arm has recently reached out to key constituencies here, including the 603 Alliance, to promote his policy agenda.

The Office of Political Affairs contacted the Alliance earlier this month, said Fran Wendelboe, a founding member of the Alliance, a group founded two years ago to support conservatives and constitutional principles. More…

Bundy Ranch Case Wrapping Up in Nevada

Six followers of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy used “armed force, threats and intimidation” against federal law enforcement officers during a tense 2014 standoff, prosecutors said, wrapping up their conspiracy case against the men on Wednesday.

The six defendants are the first of 17 people to go on trial on charges related to the standoff at Bundy’s property near Bunkerville, 75 miles northeast of Las Vegas in a case that has come to symbolize tensions in the U.S. West over the federal ownership of land that ranchers use to graze cattle. Can Hanover New Hampshire Secede from Energy Reality?

It all depends on what you think ‘renewable’ means.

A combination of national and local concerns inspired town officials and organizers for the Sierra Club Upper Valley Group to support an article on Hanover’s Town Meeting warrant that would declare the community’s commitment to 100 percent renewable electricity by 2030, extending to heating and transportation by 2050.
