Sanborn Regional High School: Netflix Series Romanticizes Suicide

Counselors at Sanborn Regional High School are concerned by a recently-released Netflix series, “13 Reasons Why,” and sent out a newsletter to parents and guardians about it Tuesday.

“The Sanborn School Counseling team wants to make you aware of the recent release of the Netflix series ‘13 Reasons Why,'” the message read. “This series is based on the book that was released ten years ago. It follows a group of high school students as they follow the story that was left behind for them by their classmate who died by suicide. ” More…

“Planned Bullyhood” Author Runs for Congress From Georgia

Out of the corner of my eye, I’m seeing coverage of a special election in Georgia to fill a Congressional seat. There will be a runoff on June 20 between a well-funded Democrat and a Republican whose name rings a bell: Karen Handel.

Weirs Beach Parking Fee May Double

Manchester schools settle discrimination suit

So a Sudanese Kid’s family gets $150K because hearings held after he assaulted someone were conducted in English?

In May 2014, Akot’s father, Khamis Akot, filed a complaint with the federal Office of Civil Rights claiming that although the district was aware the family immigrated to the U.S. from Sudan in 2001 and did not speak English, both student conduct hearings were conducted in English, and all notices provided to the family were written in English. Aaron Hernandez Commits Suicide

Hernandez made a lot of money as a football player. Rather than spend more on lawyers did he decide to end his life to leave something for his family?

Former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, who was serving a life sentence for a 2013 murder and was acquitted in a 2012 double slaying last week has committed suicide in prison.

Corrections officers found Hernandez hanging in his cell at 3:05 a.m. at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley. More…
