Ex-scoutmaster indicted for sexual assault

An ex-Scoutmaster was indicted for sexually assaulting four boys during the 1990s, doubling the number of alleged victims that he was initially charged with abusing.

Eugene Perreault, 69, of 369 Piscassic Road in Newfields, faces 17 counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault or felonious sexual assault for allegedly molesting or engaging in sexual acts with boys as young as 5 years old, according to indictments released on Wednesday. More…

New Hampshire Casino Bill Pecked to Bits in the House

Things did not begin auspiciously for the bill’s hearing at a meeting of the House Ways and Means Committee, as evidenced by the presence of the Casino Free New Hampshire group hosting a pre-hearing anti-gambling news conference in the lobby. We suspect, incidentally, that this is how the term “lobbyist” originated.

NH House ‘Freedom Caucus’ to Create Political Action Committee

A group of House Republicans plans to start a political action committee to push back against New Hampshire House Speaker Shawn Jasper in the next election, the latest chapter in a growing GOP feud.

The New Hampshire House Freedom Caucus, which models its name after a group of conservative Republicans in Congress, announced the PAC’s creation Wednesday. Members say they’ll use the money to support candidates who believe in “limited government and personal liberty.” More…

Chelsea Clinton’s desperation for attention gets pathetic

Ken Merrifield confirmed as Labor commissioner

The Executive Council voted 4-1 today to confirm Franklin Mayor Ken Merrifield as the next commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Labor.

Councilor Chris Pappas, D-Manchester, was the lone dissent. He said he was concerned that Merrifield was intending to fulfill his duties as mayor and as commissioner. More…
