An effort to restrict the use of food stamps in New Hampshire won’t be moving forward this year.A House committee retained the bill Tuesday, meaning it won’t be voted on this session. New Hampshire may start taxing fantasy sports

An estimated 215,000 residents already play the online games offered by operators ranging from big-name businesses DraftKings and FanDuel to smaller organizations.

State lawmakers are hoping to get in on the action through legislation this year that requires fantasy sports sites to pay the state annual registration fees and turn over 5 percent of contest revenues each year. More…

Sununu to Replace Chair of State Education Board

Gov. Chris Sununu plans to nominate former New Hampshire Union Leader editorial page editor Drew Cline to the state Board of Education while removing 10-year veteran Tom Raffio from the board.

Wilton, NH: Fire chief promises “escort” which never happens

When a school building is devoid of students, that’s a good time to show you what sort of messages it is sending your kids via its walls. Two folks have already questioned me for doing this but refused to identify themselves.

Despite another 90 minutes of waiting…no one ever shows up to “escort” me. A man who may be the custodian…does show up. Rather than giving me a tour, he tells people not to speak with me. More..

Vape Lounge in Manchester Loses License

Police, the city solicitor, and the state liquor commission investigated and filed a petition with the state to revoke the license, police said in a release Tuesday.

According to the petition, police responded to multiple calls and investigated employees and patrons drinking alcohol after hours, lewdness, indecent exposure, sales of controlled drugs, loud noise complaints and numerous fights outside the business. More…
