Readability Improvements to the New Media Militia Home Page

I just corrected a readability issue with the way content appears on the web page. WordPress (and by that I mean me) was set to show a synopsis and not the full content. This created a “continue reading” link when most of the posts are rarely over two paragraphs long (except for this one, of course).

I have removed the extra hurdle. When you scroll through the hundreds of stories collected here, you will now see all of the available ‘preview’ text, the direct link to the source (more…), and a direct link to the source site.

Please read the about page for a heads-up on how to identify potential access limitations created by content owners before you click a link.

H/T Susan Olsen.

Timberlane Taxes to Skyrocket

Timberlane School District residents will be asked to pay 8.9% more in taxes this November. As usual, Sandown and Danville will be slammed hardest.

Also, as usual, the news was disguised. The administration reported at the June 1 school board meeting that the surplus projected at the end of June will be $1.377 million, which is about half a million less than the forecast used in preparing the 2017/18 budget. More…
