NH AG: Two police fired weapons, Keene man wounded

KEENE — A man was wounded Monday afternoon when two police officers fired their weapons during a confrontation Monday afternoon on Wilford Street, authorities said.

The man was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for his injuries, according to a statement from Attorney General Gordon MacDonald.

Peter Hinckley, the assistant attorney general assigned to the case, said his office hopes to identify the person who was shot on Tuesday. The police officers involved will be identified as expeditiously as possible, he said. *| More…

DRONE BUSINESSES TAKING OFF

The business of flying unmanned aerial vehicles, also known as drones, is soaring. In 2016, over 2,500 drones were registered in New Hampshire, the bulk of which were for recreational use.

Commercial application of drone technology could reach $127 million nationwide by 2020, according to analysts at Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

Police: Laconia man faces felony charges over gun incident

LACONIA — A city man is in custody following a report of a gunshot that was heard in the area of a Gilford Avenue residence on Sunday night.

Police said they received a report of a person being threatened with a gun near 55 Gilford Ave. just before 11 p.m.

Officers who responded said they also received a report of a single gunshot being fired in the area. After interviewing witnesses, police determined that Gregory Marcoot, 36, who lives at 53 Gilford Ave., was a suspect. | More…

Francestown Village Store shuts its doors after 203-year run

After more than 200 years of continuous operation, the Francestown Village Store closed its doors for the last time on Thursday.

On its last day, owners Christina and Rob Wohle opened the store for its regular morning coffee crowd and then closed up for a final time not long after.

LONDONDERRY, N.H. (AP) — A letter carrier in New Hampshire barely escaped a burning mail truck.

The Eagle-Tribune reports a mail carrier was working in Londonderry Monday afternoon when she smelled an odd odor and stopped the vehicle. Battalion Chief Mike McQuillen says the fire started in the truck’s engine and then completely engulfed the vehicle. | More…
