Furry hitchhiker catches the attention of Fremont police

FREEMONT — Officers on a traffic detail in New Hampshire were shocked to see furry hitchhiker pass through their site.

According to Sgt. Jay Larochelle, the day was totally normal until one woman drove through his traffic detail with a couple of kayaks strapped to her roof. Larochelle said he thought something seemed off with the passing car, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.

The next car in-line flagged the officer down and frantically told him that a cat had been popping his head out of the bottom of the kayaks for some distance now. | More…

Here’s the latest word you’re not allowed to say: ‘derpy’

Tracking the long and growing list of words banned by the regressive Left is becoming onerous, but we carry on.

Here’s the latest no-no: “derpy.” How do we know? Because two scholars have just publicly apologized for using it, agreeing with a peer who called their use of it out as an ableist slur.

The Urban Dictionary defines it as silly, ridiculous, awkward or clumsy. But to social justice warriors who see microaggressions in every corner, it’s an ableist slur. In other words, offensive to people with disabilities, they believe. | More…

Tuftonboro police chief fires back at pot lobby

CONCORD – An advocate for legal marijuana claims the fix is in because a commission tasked under a new law to study legalization of pot is packed with some known opponents.

But such an assertion is premature and baseless, said Tuftonboro Police Chief Andrew Shagoury, president of the NH Association of Chiefs of Police. He notes the commission’s members have not been announced and the study has yet to even begin.

And, the chief countered, the Marijuana Policy Project’s Matt Simon, who contends members will produce an unfavorable recommendation, may not be the most objective on this issue. “Clearly,” Shagoury said, “he’s a paid lobbyist for legalization.” *| More…

Coast Guard to enforce Federal pot laws on US waters

Smoking marijuana on a boat in federally patrolled waters remains illegal, in spite of the recent decriminalization of pot in New Hampshire and its legalization in Maine and Massachusetts, warned U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Andrew Barresi.

“The Coast Guard still enforces federal law, which has not changed,” Barresi said. “Federal law says it’s illegal, in any quantities.”

And there’s no exemption for medical marijuana, said Barresi about federal law, which supersedes state laws. *| More…

“Dash Force News” Covers New Hampshire’s Bitcoin, DASH Outreach

Originally, Keene, New Hampshire was the civil disobedience capital of the libertarian movement. The new activist zeitgeist across New Hampshire and especially in the activism epicenter of Keene is around cryptocurrency like Bitcoin and DASH. Spreading cryptocurrency is a great method for helping keep wealth in the community and hopefully enrich it, presuming Bitcoin and the others continue to rise against fiat currency like the US Dollar. Bitcoin has been very good at this over the years.

While some old organizations like some big banks and the governments of the world may feel threatened (every activism has its haters if it is effective), cryptocurrency is rising worldwide and there’s little the old money people can do about it. | More..

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire attorney general’s office is clarifying voter identification laws in the state in advance of a Tuesday special election.
