5-year-old British girl gets fined for setting up a lemonade stand

A 5-year-old-girl burst into tears after she was fined £150 ($195) by a London council for selling cups of lemonade to music fans on their way to a music festival.

The girl’s father, Andre Spicer, said that his daughter had set up a stand near the park where thousands of festival goers were on their way to a two-day music event called Lovebox.

Professor Spicer told the BBC that his daughter started crying and told him, “I’ve done a bad thing,” after being issued with the fine and being told by four enforcement officers that she didn’t have a trading license. | More…

Dave Ridley: Lady gives me permission to edit my own video

60 mostly-elderly viewers pour into the Hopkinton, NH public library. They’re attending a presentation about fake news. About 1/2 of the presenters are govt officials or were. A lady approaches, says she’s from the League of Women Voters.

I’m mostly there to question the quasi-govt folk as they arrive…like New Hampshire Public Radio’s news director.

Who Will Show Up for Today’s Special Election in New Hampshire?

Voters in New Hampshire’s 16th District will head to the polls Tuesday to choose a new state senator.

The seat opened up after the passing of Democratic Senator Scott McGillivray.

If you take a drive around the district, which includes Wards 1, 2, and 12 in Manchester and the towns of Dunbarton, Hooksett, Candia, and Bow, you can’t help but notice there’s an election coming up…campaign signs are everywhere.

But the biggest question is whether voters there will actually remember to cast a ballot on July 25th – given it’s a special election in the middle of the summer. | More…

Judge Clears Way for Trump Commission to Collect Voter Data

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A federal judge on Monday cleared the way for President Donald Trump’s commission on election fraud to resume collecting detailed voter roll information from the states.

The commission asked states last month to provide publicly available data including registered voters’ names, birth dates and partial Social Security numbers, but it later told them to hold off until a judge ruled on a lawsuit filed by the Electronic Privacy Information Center in Washington.

U.S. District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, in the District of Columbia, denied the advocacy group’s request to block the data collection …More.

Embarrassing: NH Dems Welcome Maxine Waters, then Shun her

Yesterday, the Strafford County Democrats held their annual picnic in New Durham. They actually invited (most likely with the help of Carol Shea-Porter) Maxine Waters, one of the “most corrupt members of congress,” according to the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).

Right before the event, the press was told they were not welcome to attend. There was no reason given for keeping the press out but it could be due to the partisan attacks that were flying before the event took place. | More…

Stop Enjoying Summer: Don’t drive, don’t fly, don’t grill burgers, and also don’t stay home and procreate

The Merchants of Misery — a.k.a., climate scientists — are working overtime to shame you about all the pleasures you’re enjoying this summer and how your selfish indulgences will cause the planet’s demise. Grilling your favorite cheeseburger? Glutton! Packing up your brood for a drive to the lake house? Monster! Hoping vacation sex will result in a new baby to add to the family? Hedonist! Even mowing your lawn earns a tsk-tsk. | More…

2017 Legislative Session Recap

Before the 2017 Legislative Session began, Liberty Lobby LLC CEO Darryl W Perry began identifying bills of interest. This was initially done based solely on the titles of the Legislative Service Requests (LSRs), which are made public shortly after being filed. The text of the LSRs are then made available once the wording is finalized and has a signature from the sponsor. Not every LSR gets a bill number; a Representative or Senator can ask to withdraw the LSR. This often happens if there are multiple LSRs on the same topic with the same objective, or if the sponsor learns there is little chance of passage. | More…
