ew Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald announced the indictment of forty three-year-old Russell Berry, of Hooksett, on a charge of Theft by Unauthorized taking.  Berry, the owner of Classic Auto Works, is alleged to have taken two thousand dollars from an individual in exchange for a vehicle.

Berry failed to provide the vehicle or return the money.  The maximum penalty for theft over fifteen hundred dollars is seven and a half to fifteen years in the New Hampshire State Prison and/or a fine of four thousand dollars. The A G stressed the charge and allegation in the indictment are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. | More…

Women’s March Recommends Harvey Donations Go To Non-Whites

Subcommittee Named to Review NH Abortion Statistics Bill

Five representatives from the New Hampshire House Health and Human Services committee have been named to a subcommittee studying HB 471, the abortion statistics bill that was retained in committee earlier this year.

Sununu Satisfied With Latest RGGI Proposal

Gov. Chris Sununu praised a new draft of goals for the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, a cap and trade program among New England states, as a step in the right direction.

Revaluation riles Portsmouth taxpayers

The retired 89-year-old loves Portsmouth, and the only time he left is when he served four years in the U.S. Army. But the former city councilor worries that he may soon be forced out of his home if property tax rates keep rising in Portsmouth.

“I can see it coming,” Whitehouse said Monday. “Come October or the last part of September when they set the tax rate, then I’ll know how bad things will be. I keep cutting and cutting, but I’m all by myself and I’m trying to hang on.”

Whitehouse’s comments come soon after people all over Portsmouth received their 2017 revaluation notices last week. | More…

State Rep from Keene, NH Promises Full Body Wax if $50,000 Raised for Hurricane Victims

Earlier this year, New Hampshire state representative Joseph Stallcop of Keene became the second sitting state rep to flip to the Libertarian party, and the first democrat to do so nationwide in two decades. Now, representative Stallcop has announced a fundraiser for the victims of the hurricane in Texas:

Obviously anyone can donate to the Red Cross anytime, but Stallcop’s fundraiser will be benefiting the Red Cross with a twist. If his fundraiser reaches its goal, he’ll be stripping down for a full body waxing – ouch! Plus, he’ll receive the waxing on video to prove it. | More…
