A 19-year-old Northwood man faces multiple charges after police say he tried to grab an officer’s gun during a traffic stop early Saturday morning.

Dana Hathaway, of 1 Pheasant Lane in Northwood, was stopped for a red-light violation near the intersection of Auburn and Pine streets about 12:20 a.m. According to a news release, he gave Officer Mark Aquino a false name and said he didn’t have a license and was being taught to drive by his passenger.
