A majority of Granite Staters want only actual New Hampshire residents voting in elections as well as requiring valid identification. Unfortunately, the organizations pushing against (the) integrity of elections (several out-of-state organizations) don’t want the same integrity of the vote. These organizations are claiming that requiring valid identification is actually voter suppression. RTK Case Settles Before Supreme Court Argument

“This case highlights that the Right-to-Know Law (RTKL) not only compels public bodies to disclose government records but also regulates how public bodies convene and conduct meetings and how they deliberate and make decisions.”

A closely watched case, Porter, et al. v. Town of Sandwich, et al., Dkt. No. 212-2014-CV-00178 (Carroll County Superior Court), was recently settled on terms extremely favorable to the plaintiffs.* Under the settlement: (i) the Town withdrew its pending appeal to the Supreme Court with prejudice; (ii) the Superior Court’s orders that, among other relief, vacated a total of 6 Town administrative proceedings and mandated Town officials and employees to attend remedial training, collectively became a final, binding, and non-appealable judgment; (iii) the Town and the intervenors together agreed to reimburse the Porters $200,000 in attorneys’ fees of the $204,000 awarded by the Superior Court; and (iv) the Porters’ will dismiss 2 appeals of Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) decisions that are now moot.   Keep Reading…

House Lawmakers to Hear New State Budget

House budget writers will try to sell their new state budget proposal to fellow lawmakers Monday at the Statehouse.

The spending plan will be up for a vote in the full House on Wednesday.

An Attack On Free Speech

New “ICE” Wall at Strafford County Jail

Building a wall inside the Strafford County House of Corrections is paying off for the county jail — the only one in New Hampshire that houses illegal aliens for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The $450,000 wall built last year split up a housing unit to better separate undocumented ICE detainees from those who were undocumented and also accused of other crimes. Keep Reading…

New Hampshire’s per capita income is fifth in the nation

Per capita personal income in New Hampshire accelerated last year more than in any other state in New England, despite a slight slowdown in income in the United States as a whole.

Personal income grew by 4.7 percent in the Granite State, to about $58,322 per capita, according to a U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis report released Tuesday. That’s the fifth-highest per capita number in the United States. Connecticut and Massachusetts came in first and second, two respectively, with New Jersey and New York filling out the top five. Milford New Hampshire Considers Firearms Ban on Town Property

MILFORD -Selectmen are considering a rule that would ban firearms at the Brox property, except for gun use by licensed hunters in season. Last week, the board asked Milford Police Chief Michael Viola to draft the rule’s wording.
