Portsmouth Council Eyes Ousting PD and FD commissions

The City Council is scheduled to initiate a process toward eliminating the police and fire commissions, first during its June 3 retreat, then by vote at its June 5 meeting.

Debate about eliminating the elected citizen oversight commissions was recently mentioned by Councilors Christine Dwyer and Eric Spear. At the conclusion of Monday’s council meeting, Spear described the proposal as “unifying city government by having the police and fire departments part of the City Council’s responsibilities.” More…

Considering Religious Liberty

President Trump has issued an executive order on religious liberty, addressing in part the litigation between the government and the Little Sisters of the Poor over the government’s contraceptive mandate.  The Sisters are apparently off the hook if I properly understood the remarks the President made before he signed the order. New Hampshire House Review: ‘Red Pill’ versus ‘Rep Rage’

Yesterday, the New Hampshire House of Representatives voted to have a committee look into the online behavior of two state representatives – Republican Robert Fisher and Democrat Sherry Frost. The saga in the house started months ago when Frost was elected in an uncontested race in Dover. She went from being someone no one ever heard of to having the nickname of Sherry ‘F*cker’ Frost due to her outrageous behavior on social media. More…

The Donald’s best pals: Barack and Hillary

A fun and inciteful read from either side of the aisle.

“…as long as Barack and Hillary haunt us, the Democrats can’t grow. Yes, they’re beloved by their partisans. And each time they appear, you’ll find adoring pundits wagging their tails like Labrador puppies, wetting the carpets with joy.

But it doesn’t help the Democratic Party. It helps Hillary. It helps Barack.” More…

City Wants to Police Sagging Pants

The saga of the sagging pants, it seems, is never-ending. Municipalities around the country — in South Carolina, Louisiana, New Jersey, Alabama, Mississippi, and Illinois, just for starters — have banned the controversial look, sometimes levying fines for those who won’t pull their trousers up over their skivvies.

And now a town in Georgia wants to outlaw pants that legislators deem as sagging too low. More…

Cop has hand on his gun while we’re “just having a conversation”

‘ Goffstown PD has demanded my ID. I’m standing with a sign on the right-of-way outside the New Hampshire State Prison for Women. I’ve asked them to provide reasonable articulable suspicion first. They’ve dubiously answered…but answered.

I use the nickel to unscrew a tripod plate that is blocking me from replacing the camera’s almost-full SD card. The audio recording soldiers on as I restart the camera.  More…

House Votes to Review Controversial Online Comments From Fisher, Frost

“All representatives should be held to the same standard,” said Rep. Victoria Sullivan, R-Manchester, who put forward the amendment to include Frost. “This body cannot pick and choose who they support and who they do not.”

The House voted 182-180 to include Frost in the inquiry and then approved of the investigation of both lawmakers by a 307-56 vote, with Fisher and Frost voting in favor of the review. More…

Former PP Worker Speaks Out House Funding Vote

I posted a few minutes ago about a U.S. House vote re-directing funds away from Planned Parenthood. My attitude was yay-but-Senate.

Allow me to share with you a more decisive response, from Catherine Adair – a woman whom I have the honor of knowing, and whose experience I respect. More…
