N.H. Lawmaker Wants To Create Bill Of Rights For Foster Parents

After spending two years as a foster parent, first-term state representative Sean Morrison is concerned about what he says is a lack of rights for foster families in the child protective services system.

The Epping Republican and his wife foster two children.

He is proposing legislation to create what he calls a foster parent bill of rights. | More…

GILFORD, NH (WGME) — A herd of bison is running free, barreling through yards and blocking traffic in Gilford, New Hampshire.

We’re told some of the massive animals have been corralled, but many more are still on the loose.

The Gilford police chief says in all of his years on the force, he’s never seen anything quite like this. | More...

Right Wing Twitter Begins Digging For Dirt On CNN Employees

I’m not going to name the guy here. He’s not an on-air personality. But I would like to point out that this is a natural and predictable outcome of the war on privacy and free speech that CNN journalists began when they decided to hunt down a Reddit user and threaten to expose him simply for posting a tweet that poked fun at their organization.

Low level, behind-the-scenes CNN employees now find themselves in exactly the position in which their management and on-air people have put conservative America–one of fear, frustration and worry that anything said on social media that could be construed as offensive will be used mercilessly by partisans to damage their careers and livelihoods. | More…

Hillary Sided with Russia, Bill Clinton got $500 thousand for a speech in Moscow

The Russian lawyer who landed a meeting with Donald Trump Jr. during last year’s presidential campaign with the promise of dirt on Hillary Clinton had one big thing in common with the Democratic candidate: Both had opposed Russia sanctions targeting human-rights abusers.

Further, former Secretary of State Clinton’s initial opposition coincided with a $500,000 speech her husband gave in Moscow – a link her 2016 campaign fought to downplay in the press, according to WikiLeaks-released documents. |  More…

DC Comics Reboots Snagglepuss as ‘Gay, Southern Gothic Playwright’

Heavens to Murgatroyd! Does every cartoon character need to be revamped for “the current year”?

You might be familiar with Snagglepuss, aka America’s favorite pink cartoon mountain lion, from his wacky and family-friendly adventures during his 32-episode series as seen on The Yogi Bear Show since 1961. If you’ve ever wanted to see classic Hanna-Barbara cartoon characters like Wally Gator and Quick Draw McGraw back in the limelight for a new generation to enjoy, take a look at how DC Comics has drastically changed Snagglepuss for his upcoming comic book series that is set to debut this autumn: | More…

When Crimes Happen at School, N.H. Law Doesn’t Require Parental Notification

Laurie Laizure of Manchester likes to think she’s the kind of parent who’s engaged in what’s happening at her kids’ schools. Which is why she was so surprised to learn, when scrolling through Facebook last month, about a sexual assault that took place at Manchester West High School. …

Even more troubling, she said, was the fact that parents like her had no idea anything like this happened on campus in the first place — because the school never told them. But as far as state law is concerned, the school didn’t have to. | More…

Sununu and His Attorney General Hang Secretary of State Gardner (and the President) Out to Dry

This is the third in a series of posts about a lawsuit the ACLU-NH has brought against Secretary of State Bill Gardner that is intended to prevent New Hampshire from participating in President Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity.

In the first post, I demonstrated that neither the ACLU-NH nor any of the other named plaintiffs have a legal basis to sue Gardner: | More…

2016 NH Primary Voter-Shaming Letters Tied to Kasich Campaign

In the days before the 2016 New Hampshire primary, some voters in the Granite State received an ominous notice in their mailboxes. “What if your friends, your neighbors, and your community knew whether you voted?” read the mailer, which also contained a “New Hampshire Voter Report” showing the voting turnout histories of recipients’ friends and neighbors. The letter promised a follow up would be sent after the primary election, listing who did and didn’t vote. Recipients were not pleased, describing the letters as voter intimidation and “dirty tricks.” | More…

There is a time in the life of every elected official when their vote says it all. I plan to introduce this policy about Right to Know requests to Timberlane’s Policy Committee and the Timberlane Regional School Board.  It is a policy written to provide maximal transparency with minimal inconvenience to the public.

Will it be approved?
