From 2010-2014 I ran a summer camp on the Northern shores of Oneida Lake in Upstate New York. We had 850 acres and a private 45 acre lake to ourselves for most of the year, and during the summers we welcomed in hundreds of children to help them understand what it meant to live in a community that put consent and voluntary interactions ahead of everything else. My living expenses were taken care of, and with the camp thriving, we could have stayed there forever had we chosen to. But, we left. | More…

Manchester Neighbor not surprised 6-year-old overdosed

MANCHESTER — The neighborhood where a 6-year-old boy apparently overdosed is familiar with the opioid crisis.

This alleged overdose is the youngest suspected victim in Manchester, according to Christopher Stawasz, American Medical Response regional director for New Hampshire and Maine.

“I guess I’m not that surprised given the current situation going on in our city,” said Adam Smith, a neighbor of the Conant Street apartment where the suspected overdose happened. | More…

Gov. Chris Sununu to Cut 1,600 Regulations

WINCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Republican Gov. Chris Sununu is heading to a hair salon do to some cutting, but not hair.

Sununu will be at the Cuts on Main salon in Winchester on Thursday to announce the elimination of more than 1,600 regulations he calls obsolete. He also plans to outline the next steps in his regulatory reform initiative, which he says will modernize and streamline government.

State to Release Evidence in Hampton Police Shooting

HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire’s attorney general is releasing more information about two state troopers who fatally shot a man outside a state liquor store last month.

Authorities have said that Sgt. Keith Walker and Trooper Erik Willett shot 36-year-old Barry Jones at the Hampton store along Interstate 95 on June 13 after getting reports that Jones was intoxicated, had taken his neighbor’s pickup truck and had a handgun. | More…

Supreme Court lets Trump restore strict limits on refugees

The Supreme Court dealt President Trump a partial victory Wednesday in the legal battle over his travel ban, allowing the administration to restore strict limits on refugees that were blocked last week by a federal judge in Hawaii.

The win for Mr. Trump, however, was tempered by the high court’s decision to uphold the same judges’ ruling that exempted grandparents and other relatives of U.S. citizens from the administration’s travel ban on six Muslim-majority countries. | More…

A coffee product is being recalled for containing a rather odd ingredient.

Bestherbs Coffee LLC is voluntarily recalling all lots of New of Kopi Jantan Tradisional Natural Herbs Coffee after an FDA laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of desmethyl carbodenafil, according to a recall notice.

Desmethyl carbodenafil is structurally similar to sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra. | More…

A special election is being held on July 25  for the State Senate in District 16 because Senator Scott McGlivray passed away.  District 16 includes the towns of Dunbarton, Bow, Hooksett and Candia and Wards 1, 2, 12 in the City of Manchester.
