Unity Shmunity

In one of my favorite podcasts “Mad Dogs and Englishmen”, Kevin D. Williamson said something that I’ve been thinking about for a long time but could never quite get out very well. So, of course, Kevin being Kevin, voiced it in a much more succinct and intelligent way than anything I would have come up with.

A lot of people, including conservatives, put a big premium and a lot of value on things like unity, on things like having a strong sense of national purpose. I’m not sure I like any of those things.| More…

Scam Alert: Unemployment Insurance Claims

NHES continues to receive information regarding a number of nationwide online scams targeting individuals seeking to file unemployment insurance claims. These sites request personal information and charge a fee to help customers complete their Unemployment Insurance claims, typically implying that they are directly connected with a state’s official website.

The State of New Hampshire processes unemployment claims for free, so customers should be extremely wary of any site that charges a fee for this service.

New Hampshire Employment Security will also never ask for your credit card information.

Re: Charlottesville. VA – Refusing to Flash The Gang Sign

Today’s funded disruption of peace happened in Charlottesville, VA.  At least one death has occurred – a driver intentionally plowed a vehicle into a large group of pedestrians.

People want to know how I “feel” about it, or at least they claim to want to know that.

From what I can see, I’m supposed to publicly condemn one of the participatory groups in this deadly farce, whether it’s the White Nationalists, ANTIFA, or BLM.

I have written more than once about the latter two, and one can logically assume that I do not subscribe to the ideology of the former. So, when people ask me what I think about all this, I am suspicious, as if they are giving me an opportunity to flash the sign of which gang I belong to. | More…
