The other top posts were, Henniker: Western Ave. Rebuild Project Out of Control at number three, Man at Belmont gun range dies from self-inflicted shot to head in ‘tragic accident’ at number four, and Man Found Dead Aboard Fishing Boat Docked in New Hampshire coming in at number five.

Flat Earth held the number two spot last week returning to the top five for the third or fourth time (I’m losing count).

The top 5 countries by visits last week from 1-5 were the US, Australia, The UK, Canada, and Sweden.

CNN’s Jake Tapper: ‘Obama said things that weren’t true and got away with it’

“I don’t want to compare President Obama and President Trump on these issues because they’re different, and the scale isn’t even remotely the same. But President Obama said things that weren’t true and got away with it more for a variety of reasons, and one is the media was much more supportive of him.” | More…

So is violence from the left acceptable?

Had there been no counter demonstration and media spotlight, a few hundred racists would have gathered in Charlottesville and had no impact on the national conversation.

Instead, they were met by the ongoing violence of the Antifa and the hate group Black Lives Matter and a police force that stood down, just as the campus police did when the Antifa attacked people at the University of California, Berkeley. | More…

Dartmouth Embryonic DNA Editing Ethics

From the New Hampshire Union Leader, 8/15/17, page C1, “DNA discovery: NH biologist reacts to gene-editing breakthrough”: an associate professor of molecular and systems biology at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine is asked for his comment on a recent study published in the journal Nature. The study reports that researchers in Oregon have had success using gene-editing to repair human embryos that carry a certain mutation.

Says the Dartmouth professor: “The way they have dodged some ethical considerations is that they didn’t go on to have that embryo grow into a person.” | More…

Under pressure, Trump calls neo-Nazis and KKK criminals

Wouldn’t be awesome if the press (or Republicans) pressured Democrat leaders to call BLM, AntiFA, and others on the left criminals too?

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — President Donald Trump denounced neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan as criminals and thugs on Monday, bowing to mounting political pressure to condemn such groups explicitly after a white-nationalist rally turned deadly in Virginia.

Trump had been assailed from across the political spectrum for failing to respond more forcefully to Saturday’s violence in Charlottesville. The head of one of the world’s biggest drug companies quit a presidential business panel as a result, saying he was taking a stand against intolerance and extremism.  | More…

Kim Jong Un Decides He Won’t Fire Missiles Towards Guam After All

After a week of threatening to shoot missiles near Guam, North Korea’s ruler, Kim Jong Un, has abruptly changed direction and decided that he won’t despite getting none of his demands met.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has decided not to launch a threatened missile attack on Guam, Pyongyang’s state media reported on Tuesday, but warned that he could change his mind “if the Yankees persist in their extremely dangerous reckless actions.” | More…

Hassan’s mess: Blaming Trump instead

As Hassan was running for the Senate, the Obama administration informed her that the state’s expanded Medicaid program was running afoul of federal law. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) found that the New Hampshire Health Protection Program (NHHPP) had improperly relied on voluntary payments from hospitals to cover some of the non-federal share.

Hassan, and a bipartisan group of legislators, bragged that New Hampshire taxpayers wouldn’t be on the hook as the federal share of expanded Medicaid benefits dropped because hospitals would be covering those costs themselves. Hassan declined to inform the public, or the voters, that her signature legislative accomplishment was in danger of collapsing. *| More…

Narrative: ALL of the Sunday programs lied about the “counter-protesters”

It takes at least two sides to create a conflict. Not one, two.  Watching the Sunday shows you might believe that only one side was in Charlotteville, VA this past weekend.  The reporting concentrated on the KKK as a whole and neo-Nazis from whatever groups they happened to belong.  Just one side.

On This Week with Georgie George Stephanopoulos, there was not one mention of AntiFA or as you can see with the flags the Industrial Workers of the World group; one of a number of Socialist groups from the Left that ALWAYS seem to have a presence when violence is around.  Yet, he and his reporters and panel member just called them “counter protesters”. I guess Georgie forgot all about the Berkeley riots, the Oakland riots, and the Portland riots, eh? | More…

U.S. Oil Drillers Keep Pressure on OPEC With Record Shale Output

Oil output from major U.S. shale plays is poised to reach a fresh record next month, further complicating OPEC’s efforts to support prices.

The gain is being led by the oil-rich Permian basin of Texas and New Mexico, where production has risen steadily over the past two years. The Energy Information Administration projects Permian output to rise by 64,000 barrels in September, reaching a record of 2.6 million barrels a day. | More…
