Manchester School District identifies board members who take taxpayer provided health and dental benefits

In response to a Right to Know request filed by former Hooksett School Board Member John Lyscars, the Manchester School District has released the names of those board members who take taxpayer-provided health and or dental insurance benefits and identified the associated premium costs to the district.  Lyscars said he filed the request because, as a Hooksett taxpayer, he was unhappy that tuition his town paid the to educate its children in the Queen City’s schools was going to board member benefits, rather than to classroom needs.

Conservatism or Libertarianism: Why are they different?

I believe the differences may lie in the theological concept known as total depravity. A basic understanding of the doctrine of total depravity teaches that all human beings are morally corrupt from birth. I believe that conservatives even though they may not hold to total depravity as a theological concept, they do unknowingly hold to this view as a part of their worldview. Contrastly, a libertarians’ worldview does not hold to the moral corruption of man.

You see, libertarianism believes in limited government because they believe that government is the issue, not man. They believe that people are inherently good and the free market should be void of regulations. People will act in their self-interest, and even though some bad apples will exist, the free market will drive them out of business, and thus you will create a utopia. Libertarianism isn’t, for the most part, full board anarchism, but it is closer to anarchism than conservatism. | More…

A Banned American Flag and UNH Doubles Down on Diversity

Here’s my segment with Rich Girard, as promised. Rich and I begin (very) briefly with bake sales as a constitutional question then move on to the Londonderry High School Flag ban incident. John Lyscars calls in with an update before we continue with UNH’s all-in commitment to the Diversity Cult with their Sept. 8th report, “Developing and Sustaining Inclusive Excellence and a Safe, Healthy, Equitable Campus Community at UNH.”

“…climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth…”

“…one has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth…”

 – IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer, one of the worlds leading experts on “climate change policy.”

Londonderry, NH High School Tries to Ban the American Flag…

Just before my segment on the Girard at Large radio show this morning Rich reported on a letter sent to parents of High School students in Londonderry New Hampshire. The missive, a printed affair with pictures and the school principles name on it, went out to remind parents of the proper decorum for the upcoming pep rally which included a ban on the American Flag. | More…

Father of the Constitution Blacklisted in Dallas on Eve of Constitution Day

On Saturday night, the evening before Constitution Day Sunday, a member of the Dallas Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees released a list of schools whose names should be reconsidered because of their association with the Confederacy or dark periods in American history. James Madison High School ranked on the list, suggesting that just as America was celebrating the 230th anniversary of the ratification of the Constitution, the “Father of the Constitution” would be considered too controversial for a school’s name. | More…

Child Poverty Down in NH, But Pockets Persist

CONCORD, N.H. — The Granite State is making progress in reducing poverty, according to the latest numbers. But some groups are seeing only limited gains as the state recovers from the Great Recession.

Phil Sletten, policy analyst with the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute, said some of the biggest strides have been made in getting children out of poverty. Only 7.9 percent of New Hampshire residents younger than 18 were living in poverty in 2016. That’s compared with 10.7 percent in 2015.  | More…

Monday: Check out the New Media Militia on Girard at Large

It’s the beginning of a new week, and that means the New Media Militia Segment on Girard at Large. We’ll (probably) talk about the decline and fall of Free Speech at UNH after the recent release of their report on campus climate. The document commits the state university system to put the diversity cult at the center of who and what they are. | More…

The “Mew” Media Militia, if you got the typo version of the headline, could be about finding and sharing cat videos. But we probably don’t need any more of that, do we?
