Solar Industry Has Mixed Reaction to Manchester Mayor’s Proposed Energy Plan

Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas proposed a comprehensive solar energy plan for New Hampshire’s largest city which he said would save taxpayers $5.5 million.

At a board meeting on Tuesday, Gatsas presented a two-part proposal to expand the city’s burgeoning solar energy infrastructure in conjunction with BFHJ Clean Energy, which is based out of Newark, N.J. The first portion consists of a 25-year purchase agreement for solar energy which would supply 25 percent of the city’s power needs while the second part focuses on a 25-year land lease for a three megawatts solar array. | Read More at NH Journal

Sununu Removes Member from Cancer Cluster Panel

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu has removed a member of the Seacoast Cancer Cluster Commission who wrote an op-ed piece saying there is no cancer cluster.

Sununu said Tuesday he’s removed Steve Kenda of North Hampton, a past Republican candidate for state Senate and governor, from the commission. He said Kenda’s participation has become too much of a distraction. | Keep Reading at NHPR

Gaudet files official complaint over Tessier charter violations

Manchester resident Jim Gaudetwho filed complaints against Manchester aldermen Ron Ludwig of Ward 2 and Normand Gamache of Ward 11 for violations of the city charter has filed another complaint with Mayor Ted Gatsas in light of revelations that at-Large School Committeewoman Nancy Tessier violated multiple charter sections and state laws.  Gaudet is a retired police officer who spent more than a decade prosecuting cases in court. | Keep Reading at Girard at Large
