The Volokh Conspiracy Moves From Paywall to Freewall

As you can see, we’ve moved from the Washington Post, where we’ve blogged since early 2014, to Reason. Good to see you here, and we hope you’ll keep visiting us here often! We wanted to say a few things about our move, to satisfy those curious about it and to avoid the need for people to speculate about our reasons. | More at Reason.com

“Many parents cannot afford private schools; SB-193 will help”

If a contractor did a good job for you but a bad job for your neighbor would you force your neighbor to keep rehiring the same contractor? Would you tell your neighbor to hire a second contractor to follow the first and fix the first contractor’s poor work? No.

But this is what happens with children’s education. Many public schools fail to provide a good educational opportunity to all students. And parents have to make up for public school deficiencies if they can. | Keep Reading at GraniteGrok.com

An Open Letter to Crypto-Wealthy Libertarians, Voluntarists, and Anarchists

With $1 trillion market cap for all cryptocurrency on the horizon, it’s pretty clear a bunch of voluntarist/anarchists/libertarians have access to unprecedented wealth – if not now, very soon.

If achieving liberty in your lifetime is important to you and you have now found yourself with, or will very soon (if the prices keep rising) have access to more wealth than you have ever had access to, or could have imagined having, now is the time that you should seriously consider a couple of options. | Keep Reading at Free Keene

Josiah Bartlett: Attack of the Turnspike

“…the toll hike is not about fixing red-list bridges. Those bridges are outside the turnpike system. The red-list bridges would be a small part of this plan and it doesn’t guarantee their funding. They would get $32 million (years from now) out of a plan that would raise $36 million a year in new revenue.

This hike is about permanently raising turnpike revenue. We know this because although the stated justification is to cover a spike in projects over the next decade, the toll hikes don’t expire in 2028.” | Keep Reading at Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy

Ed Naile: Jury Duty for Thee, But Not For Me

The ridiculous claim that anyone, from anywhere, without any identification, can vote in New Hampshire in a Federal Election simply by “intending” in his mind, to become lawfully domiciled or abandon a previous domicile, has created two distinct classes of NH voter.

One voter is domiciled in NH and the other can register, ignore the laws of their own state, and stay on the NH voter database for as long as he, or someone in his place, keep voting in General Elections. That is patently unconstitutional and is defended by our NH Secretary of State and Attorney General’s Office. | Keep Reading at CNHT

Skip Murphy: Technical Difficulties – thanks for your patience!

I messed up in trying to institute a change (on GraniterGrok.com)– and blew it up.

Thanks to Carolyn McKinney and the Support team at Nexcess in picking, choosing, advancing, falling back in trying to “scalpel” it.  Thank the good Lord for backups as that’s what we ended up having to do.  Before the backup, I saved off the posts since 12/10 and will be putting them back into the system tomorrow. | Keep Reading at GraniteGrok.com
