NH State Police Claim: Distracted Driving Deaths Down Thanks To Phone Ban Law, But Are They?

Every summer we get an update on what a great idea the cell phone ban law was for New Hampshire. This year, it started at NHPR, with Major Matt Shapiro of the New Hampshire State Police.

Major Matt Shapiro of the New Hampshire State Police was one of the leaders behind this law, aimed at getting drivers’ eyes away from their phones and on the road.  Speaking on The Exchange, Shapiro says there is clear evidence it’s working.

In an updated report, the same article with one more paragraph added,  “According to Shapiro, there were two fatal crashes related to distracted driving last year, down from 16 in 2014. However, overall traffic accidents and fatalities continue to remain high.”

Sorry, but I’m calling BS. | More…

Ohio Councilman: Maybe We Should Stop Responding To Repeat Overdose Calls

Give Middletown Councilman Dan Picard full marks for administrative ingenuity, if nothing else. Facing rising costs from the erupting opioid crisis plaguing the US, and angry at repeat offenders, Picard offered an “outside the box” solution. Why not just let them die after three responses? | More…

President Trump’s Election Integrity Commission Not Welcome in Virginia and California – No Surprise

Several states have decided to not cooperate with the Election Integrity Commission. California and Virginia are the first states to start this method of avoiding transparency.

Of course, states that promote illegal voting are not going to willingly give their election data to people who can read and understand it. That would fly in the face of why they keep such records secret in the first place. A handful of Virginia counties just lost embarrassing court cases to The Public Interest Legal Foundation and had to turn over the names of non-US citizens who were voting in Virginia for years. | More…

Shea-Porter Urges New Hampshire to Deny Presidential Election Commission’s Request for Personal Voter Data

A moot point(*), and this after all public data and not private, but I thought you’d like to see what she said.

Shea-Porter wrote:

“I write to urge you to deny the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity’s request for the personal information of every registered New Hampshire voter. In a letter addressed to you, the Commission requested the name, last four Social Security digits, birthdate, political affiliation, address, military status, and voting history of nearly one million Granite Staters. Secretary Gardner, as a member of the Commission, it is imperative that you both deny this request and inform your fellow members that this misguided effort is unacceptable and deeply troubling. | More…

Nikki Haley shines again at the UN

With every month that goes by, Nikki Haley is proving herself to be a stellar US ambassador to the United Nations in the tradition of Jeane Kirkpatrick and Daniel Patrick Moynihan.

On Thursday, for example, she called out other members of the Security Council for praising Iran over its compliance with the Obama nuclear deal. | More…

The Cruel Hopelessness Of “Single Payer”

In the current debate over the Affordable Care Act, we really are in the midst of a great proxy war over single payer health care.   Sure, its not on the table with this Congress, and Obamacare, while a bureaucratic monstrosity, isn’t single payer.   But the debate surrounding GOP efforts to repeal, or at least reform the law is really a precursor to a national debate over single payer.

Regardless of the fate of the GOP pseudo-repeal bill, we are at a crossroads.  Obamacare is collapsing.   It was never intended to be permanent.  It was always a compromise, a bridge to complete, government sponsored, single payer health care.  We will soon have to decide if we want a market-oriented health care system, or a government dominated system. | More…

D.I.C.E.D. – The UN’s Environmental Constitution For The World

Certain factions here and abroad have been pushing for an Article V Convention which would open up the US Constitution to ‘changes’. What those changes would entail is anyone’s guess, but here is something you might expect many of those groups to be pushing for.

I am sure there are many Americans who have no idea nor care what “The Draft International Covenant on Environment and Development” (DICED) is. They should. The Draft Covenant is the “Environmental Constitution of Global Governance.” | More…

NH Democrat Representative Dan Eaton let’s us know what he thinks of us.

Dear Red States…

We’ve decided we’re leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we’re taking the other Blue States with us.

In case you aren’t aware, that includes Hawaii, Oregon, California, New Mexico, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the people of the new country of New California.

To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches. Continue reading
