Being Inclusive: Harvard to Delete ‘Puritans’ From Alma Mater Song

According to a column in the Crimson by the staff editorial board, the reference to “Puritans” in the school’s song was not a concern for members of the Harvard community before the announcement that the change would be made.

Despite this, a task force working to make Harvard more “inclusive” announced their decision to get rid of the reference to “Puritans” in the alma mater song. | More…

Canada shouldn’t donate to the Clinton Foundation

Canada can and should play a leadership role in advancing initiatives that foster real change in the lives of women globally.

E. coli levels remained high through Milford and Amherst but moderated to acceptable levels finally in Merrimack. | More…

YOU’RE FIRED! Trump’s VA Terminates 500, Suspends 200 For Misconduct

Five hundred and forty-eight Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) employees have been terminated since President Donald Trump took office, indicating that his campaign pledge to clean up “probably the most incompetently run agency in the United States” by relentlessly putting his TV catchphrase “you’re fired” into action was more than just empty rhetoric.

Another 200 VA workers were suspended and 33 demoted, according to data newly published by the department as part of VA Secretary David Shulkin’s commitment to greater transparency. Those disciplined include 22 senior leaders, more than 70 nurses, 14 police officers, and 25 physicians. | More…

What I Mean By Pro-Life

To me being pro-life means respecting the right to life for all human beings. It isn’t being against abortion. Although, I oppose imposed death in all forms, from abortion to euthanasia and so-called assisted suicide.

Rather being pro-life is about respect and honor of the innate worth and value of every human being on the face of the earth, regardless of his or her size, location, level or state of development, their specific method of conception, or their environment. | More…

NH Primary Source: Douglas says special legislative session needs two-thirds supermajority vote

It’s a moot point – at least for the moment. But for the record, former state Supreme Court associate justice Chuck Douglas has officially opined that a two-thirds majority of the New Hampshire House and Senate would be required to call state lawmakers into a special session.

Douglas responded to an inquiry by New Hampshire House Clerk Paul Smith about the required threshold. | More…
