What Happened at Evergreen College Is Just Another Step In the Journey to the Promised Liberal Utopia

If you want to make an omelet you have to breaks some eggs, so the saying goes. That’s true for the progressive utopia too. But what they don’t tell you, what they can’t tell you, is that before they deliver the promised harmony and unity and self-awareness of a centrally planned economic caste system from which you can never escape, but that they will run, you have to break everything.

Part of what breaking everything looks like was on display at Evergreen State College this past spring. Evergreen descended into literal anarchy complete with SJW mob rule, terrorism, kidnapping, racism, assault, and battery. Sanctioned by the elites who stood by and did nothing, perpetrated by an army of people steeped in the modern cult of diversity and inclusiveness. | More…

Appellate Court Prohibits Legislative Meetings from Opening with Invocation by Government Officials

RICHMOND, VA—Today, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit decided 10-5 to prohibit First Liberty Institute clients, Rowan County, NC,  Commissioners, from opening commission meetings with an invocation by government officials. This decision comes three years after the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that legislative meetings may open with a prayer given by local religious leaders even if all the prayer givers are of the same faith.

“While we are disappointed in the Fourth Circuit’s decision to ban invocations before legislative meetings contrary to Supreme Court precedent, we are encouraged that the split in the vote on the Fourth Circuit demonstrates the need for Supreme Court review on this issue,” said Mike Berry, Deputy General Counsel for First Liberty Institute.

First Liberty Institute is one of the law firms representing Rowan County in this matter and is also representing Jackson County, Michigan in a similar matter that is currently pending before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

The continuing self-destruction of the Episcopal Church

I used to write a lot about the “Mainline Protestant denominations” and how they were crumbling even as they denied that their foundational and Biblical doctrinal changes were the reason why. …

They moved from being Biblically oriented to driven by all of the SJW tenets of the day: open borders, gay marriage, less about God and more about the world, to the point of rejecting why they were “in business.”  Which was saving souls through Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross.  If you no longer believe that Jesus is the Son of God, well, you’re just a country club with ornate windows and an expensive old-fashioned organ but without the greens, tennis courts, and pool. | More…

Oregon’s New Abortion Law Proves The Left Doesn’t Care About Consent

The Act, titled “Relating to reproductive health care; and declaring an emergency,” will force insurers to cover 100 percent of the cost of an abortion, regardless of medical necessity. Elective abortion in Oregon is now totally free. It’s either covered by one’s insurer, or else covered directly by the state through the Oregon Health Authority.

The last line of the bill reads, “This 2017 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2017 Act takes effect on its passage.” | More…
