After Decriminalization, Supporters Call for Marijuana Legalization.

Less than a month after decriminalizing marijuana, legislators and lobbyists have begun open discussions on the potential legalization of marijuana in New Hampshire.

NH Salvation Army to host Chili-Chowder Cook-off

DERRY — The Salvation Army is inviting the public to its eighth annual Chili-Chowder Cook-off from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at MacGregor Park, 64 E. Broadway.

Manchester Man Sentenced For Fentanyl Trafficking

Concord, N.H.— Acting United States Attorney John J. Farley announced that Michael J. Soto-Hernandez, 26, a/k/a “Quajo,” previously of Manchester, New Hampshire, was sentenced on Tuesday to 40 months in federal prison for distributing fentanyl in Manchester in 2016. | More…

Franklin Becomes First N.H. Town to OK Keno

Franklin became the first municipality in the state to approve the gambling game keno during a citywide election in Franklin on Tuesday. It passed in all three wards with about 60 percent of the vote.

New Hampshire Lottery officials said last August that eight locations in Franklin have liquor licenses that qualified them to allow keno, which is similar to an electronic form of bingo. *| More…

Manchester VA Whistleblower Announces Bid for Congress

One of the dozen Manchester VA whistleblowers has announced his candidacy for Congress. Stewart Levenson says he will challenge Democrat Annie Kuster in New Hampshire’s second district as a Republican.

He and other doctors came forward last summer with allegations of leadership failures at the Manchester VA that resulted in patient harm.  | More…

School board member: ‘Flag nothing more than toilet paper to me’

An Elgin school board member defended comments she made on her personal Facebook page supporting NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem and equating the American flag with toilet paper.
