Bug off! N.H. sees invasion of western conifer seed bug
Many homeowners have reported what appears to be an invasion as the bugs with long legs and antennas search for openings to crawl inside warm homes to hang out for the winter months.
The western conifer seed bug can emit an odor when handled as a defense mechanism. Eaton said it’s in a family of insects closely related to the stink bug, but it isn’t really a stink bug.
While they first showed up in New England in the 1990s after arriving from western states, the western conifer seed bug’s seasonal invasion this fall has been more noticeable than in past years. | More at New Hampshire.com

NH Election Law Committee Can’t Agree on Political Advocacy Definition
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire House will be deciding whether to broaden the state’s definition of political advocacy organization without the guidance of its election law committee.
The Senate passed a bill in February that would require organizations to register with the secretary of state’s office and file financial reports if they spend $5,000 or more per year on communication that refers to a candidate within 60 days of an election. Current law requires registration only when such communication amounts to expressly advocating for or against a candidate. | More at US News
