Statewide VFW gun raffle shunned in Salem NH

SALEM, N.H. — Three months after her veteran son took his own life with a gun, Ellen Hill of Methuen, along with some members of the Salem Veterans of Foreign Wars post he frequented, are upset about a firearms raffle hosted by the state VFW.

“I don’t see why they can’t raise money another way,” she said. “These veterans are suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). And with everything that just happened with my son… I don’t understand.” | More…
