NH House OKs Bill Funding Full-Day Kindergarten with Keno

The House overwhelmingly passed a bill Thursday to fund full-day kindergarten in the state. The final vote was 231 to 100.

Under the measure, $1100 per pupil would be sent to school districts for the full-day kindergarten programs. But those dollars would come from the electronic bingo game – Keno – which is currently illegal in New Hampshire. More…

President Trump Approves Major Disaster Declaration for the State of New Hampshire

June 1, 2017 –  Today, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of New Hampshire to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by a severe winter storm from March 14 to March 15, 2017.

Federal funding is available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe winter storm in Belknap and Carroll counties. More…

Scientists Map The Genome Of Ancient Egyptian Kings, And They Weren’t From Africa

The first ever genetic analysis of mummies found that ancient Egyptian kings were more closely related to West Asians than Africans, according to a study published Tuesday by scientists at the Max Planck Institute.

The research found that ancient Egyptians were most closely related to Neolithic Levantine, Anatolian and European populations. The mummies tested did not share strong genetic links to Africa often found in modern Egyptians. More…

Croydon “Education Tuitioning” Bill Passes the New Hampshire House

The Croydon Bill passes the NH House today by a vote of 210 -147

House Majority Leader Richard Hinch (R-Merrimack):
