Nashua Mayor: Proposed Commuter Rail Project Win-Win for City

The Nashua Board of Aldermen gave an initial nod Tuesday night to a plan to bring a commuter rail stop to the city.

The commuter rail line would run from Worcester, Massachusetts to Lowell and then up to Nashua and Bedford. The project would be led and fully paid for by the Boston Surface Railroad Company out of Rhode Island. | More…

EPA: Burying 40 More Miles of Northern Pass Better for Wetlands

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says burying an additional 40 miles of Northern Pass transmission line in its most northern segment would be less damaging to wetlands and wildlife than as currently proposed and “appears practicable.”

A letter dated Sept. 26 from EPA’s Region 1 to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New England District said guidelines to receive a Section 404 permit require the “least environmentally damaging practicable alternative.” | More…

Millennials Convene for Sununu’s Advisory Council

Gov. Chris Sununu is convening a group of 25 Granite State millennials to provide insights and policy recommendations on issues affecting them.

On Sept. 21, Sununu issued an executive order establishing the Governor’s Millennial Advisory Council, which holds monthly meetings to discuss pertinent topics and provide feedback to the governor on how to provide solutions. According to the executive order, millennials are defined as those born between 1980 and 2000. | More…
