Memorial Day: In Honor of American Patriots

Patriots, we set aside Memorial Day to honor the service and sacrifice of generations of our fellow Armed Forces Patriots, now departed, who defended American Liberty with honor.

Accordingly, I invite you to read our tribute to fallen American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen. I also recommend this tribute to Medal of Honor recipient Col. Leo K. Thorsness, who died earlier this month.

On Memorial Day, flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise until noon, your local time. Please join Patriots honoring veterans across our great nation by observing a moment of silence at 3:00 p.m. local time for remembrance and prayer. Finally, extend a personal word of gratitude and comfort to surviving family members who grieve for a beloved warrior. Source Page

Boy Scouts insist on keeping sex-abuse secrets

Former Scouts in Georgia and other states, many of them now middle-age, say the national organization’s refusal to make public the files helped facilitate sexual abuse inflicted by their scoutmasters.

The accusers’ claim of a conspiracy of silence is the crux of a lawsuit filed last week against a former Athens, Ga., scoutmaster who allegedly molested a dozen or more Scouts and other boys in the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s. It’s the latest in a series of such lawsuits filed against former Georgia scoutmasters. More…

Portsmouth NH officers allege quota system on traffic tickets

The Portsmouth Police Patrolmen’s Union made the allegation about quotas through an unfair labor practice complaint filed with the New Hampshire Public Employee Labor Relations Board. According to the complaint, brought by the union’s lawyer Peter Perroni, the officers endorsed a new contract on Sept. 27, which includes a provision mandating they receive performance evaluations. NH Fugitive Arrested In Epsom: Report

CONCORD, NH — A New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week from April of this year was arrested on Friday in Epsom, according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Jeffrey White. Vincente Perez, 55, was arrested on outstanding arrest warrants on May 26, 2017, from both the New Hampshire Parole Board and the Northwood Police Department due to alleged parole violations after being convicted of narcotics offenses, disobeying an officer, and a subsequent driving after suspension charge. Democrat Jeff Woodburn is upset about Governor Sununu’s plea to save the family of bears in Hopkinton. Conservation officers had planned to shoot them, but now they’ll trap them and relocate them. Woodburn is miffed.

I can imagine what’s going through his tiny liberal head right now. If bears had abortion rights that mother bear would never have been (to borrow a phrase from Berry Soetoro) punished with bear cubs.  More…

USAA Will Stop Running Ads on Rachel Maddow’s Show

The insurance company originally claimed that it would no longer run ads on “Hannity” because of a company policy against airing ads on “opinion shows.” The Media Research Center then revealed that the company had placed ads on MSNBC shows hosted by Maddow, Chris Hayes and Lawrence O’Donnell, all of whom present the news from a liberal viewpoint.
