BELMONT — A man at a local indoor firing range died Saturday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
“It was just a tragic accident,” said Belmont Police Cpl. Evan Boulanger.
The fire department and police were called to Belmont Firearms & Range at 140 Laconia Road about 12:47 p.m. for a report of a gunshot victim.
Boulanger said the man suffered a wound to the head from a handgun, though the police corporal declined to identify the type or caliber of the gun.
Gun range staff immediately rendered first aid and called for emergency responders. Firefighters administered CPR at the scene and in the ambulance en route to Lakes Region General Hospital. *| More…
