Jeanne Shaheen assumes that Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) is a real problem that her policies will help us navigate. I have blogged at length about them (her policies), but it’s hard to beat commentary like this.
Dr. David Evans is a man responsible for writing the carbon accounting models for Austraila’s Kyoto compliance reporting, but after years of research he’s discovered something truly alarming about Global Warming; the science is not only ‘not settled,’ but that it is wrong. In This article in The Australian he reports his observations. And no Jeanne he’s not a shill for big oil.
There is no evidence to support the idea that carbon emissions cause significant global warming. None. There is plenty of evidence that global warming has occurred, and theory suggests that carbon emissions should raise temperatures (though by how much is hotly disputed) but there are no observations by anyone that implicate carbon emissions as a significant cause of the recent global warming.
So is Jeanne prepared to look at the data?
She can’t.
Her willingness to simply “buy-in” to AGW (Al Gore Warming™) theory probably has nothing to do with AGW and everything to do with being a big government liberal. The very idea of AGW is a Gore-send to the kinds of top-down socialism she calls good government. It’s solutions require intrusive federal interventions, expensive government handouts, price supports and price fixing, byzantine federal oversight, a massive redistribution of wealth, the usurpation of State and Local control, and growth crippling restrictions. The market can’t run without energy, if government controls the use of energy, the government controls the market. It’s everything a good Democrat dreams about.
So Shaheen is just another Blue Fish in a big stinky tank. And the party of Choice is once again proven to be the party of anything but. As ill conceived as Kyoto and its assumptions have proven to be–she is powerless to abort the Democrat parties advance toward the same failed policies.
Spending our money to make government bigger. That’s what Shaheen for Senate is all about.
