According to David Lang’s twisted logic all firefighters are against parental notification, but I’ll get to that in a moment.

The left wing has come out in defense of Jeff Goley and a deceptive mailer he sent out that claimed..

  “As your state senator, Jeff Goley will lead the fight to reform the LLC tax,” and , “I will invest in small businesses and lead the fight to reform the LLC tax to help our economy grow.”

So let me see if I understand this.  The entirety of your legislative history portrays you as a serial tax and spender (NHHRA rating of 16% and NHLA rating of “D.”)  You vote for government first and foremost regardless of the people’s ability to pay for it.  You voted for the LLC tax on small businesses to help fill a hole in the budget you and your party created by growing it another 10% despite mounting job losses in a recession.  And now that you are running for the State Senate you promise to lead the fight for reform?

 

You may be “growing something” pinocchio, but I don’t think it’s the economy.  And reform?  Is that the same reform the national democrats have been trying for the past 12 months? I don’t think New Hampshire can handle any more democrat reform.  Because what you are really referring to is more government, more spending, and more taxes. Been there, been done-over by that.

 

“Fight to reform” is code for  “find new ways to deprive people of their earnings” because the left believes your earnings belong to the government, and only thorough their good graces have the people and businesses been allowed to keep it up to this point.   

 

Goley the small business tax reformer.  Yes, he reformed the law to tax small business.  We got that.

 

 

But the most desperate defense of all in “Mailer-gate” comes was from David Lang, president of the Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire.  Mr. Lang said, HGHOP Chairman John Sununu…

 

“…should be ashamed and embarrassed about his inflammatory comments calling into question the integrity of firefighters, including Jeff Goley.”

 

Calling into question the integrity of all firefighters? You really want to go there? 

 

This is one of those Mo Baxley moments in reverse.  Because Jeff Goley is a firefighter, any comment about him is a comment about all Firefighters.  See how that’s supposed to work?  Goley can’t stand up for his own record, and he’s been caught in a bold faced lie, so the only way to protect him is to try to make his face that of every hard working, life sacrificing firefighter, ever. 

 

How collectivist of you.  Well, Mr. Lang, I have the highest esteem for firefighters, and frankly—I disagree with you here.  I do not believe your claim holds water.  But if that’s how you’d like to play it, then if anything anyone says about Jeff Goley’s politics by default applies to Firefighters,  then whatever Jeff Goley does as a politician–including what he votes for, what he mails to people, and where he stands on issues, all firefighters must–by your formula–accept responsibilty for supporting.

 

So according to Mr. Lang, ladies and gentleman, every firefighter in this state is not only against Parental notification in the event that a minor wants or seeks an abortion, they are against parental notification with exceptions for medical emergency as well.   In fact, Jeff Goley voted against every compromise bill that would have restored even partial rights for parents to know if someone was going to perform an abortion on their underage daughter.

So are all firefighters against a parents rights.  All of them? Every last one?

 

Take a survey and get back to me, but I bet that almost every firefighter with a daughter would disagree, and plenty with just son’s besides.  In fact, I would bet that most firefighters would expect their sons and daughters to take responsibility for their actions and own up to them instead of trying to be decpetive.

But not according to Mr, Lang.  So who has the integrity problem now?

 

I’m sure Mr. Goley is an outstanding firefighter and he has my thanks and appreciation.  But that has no bearing on his politics, or representative Goley’s effort to suspend disbelief about his record so he can fool people into putting another go-along get-along, tax and spend, grow government, left wing rubber stamp vote in the state senate.

 

As I said before, been there–done that.  It’s time for real change.

Approximately 20,000 fewer people had a job last month when all the pluses and minuses were summed up.  Another 100,000 stopped looking for work, vanishing off the ranks of the “unemployed.”  There were (reportedly) some 840,000 unemployed who were “missed” over the course of the past few months never showing up in the jobs numbers preceding these.

And employment dropped 0.3 points in January?

I’m not excited about the math here.

Forget the rhetoric about the missing decade.  What just happend to 1 million more unemployed people?

One of the fun things about observing liberal policy is leaning out of the hedgerow and looking up the path to see where it’s headed.  With the governments take over of college education loans, and their commitment to sending millions more students into the university system, (whether they want to, need to, or not) we see several left wing desires come together.

 

Colleges, struggling or otherwise, get thousands of new students and the taxpayer supported tuitions or loan guarantees that go with them.  (Which many, according to new rules, will never fully pay back)This money overstuffs the pockets of the predominantly left wing professors who work there, while financing another generation of thier textbooks filled with the socialist tripe they barter in.  And the college attendee is rewarded with several (more) years of anti-American, leftwing ivory tower indoctrination and recitation to get whatever is will be passed off as a degree. 

 

More simply put, the government is redirecting your tax dollars into the indoctrination mill of higher education and doing whatever it can to push more cattle into this ideological slaughterhouse

Unemployment is reported down at 9.7%.  Still need to look at the numbers but I’m suspicious.

In this mornings Union Leader democrat Mark Fernald makes what he assumes is a reasoned appeal for why the change in income distributions or dividends for LLC’s is not a tax, is actually fair, and why all the objectors should be quiet.  But he makes his case based on assumptions only a pro government liberal could make.

 

The broad premise of his comments is the idea that everyone needs to pay their fair share of taxes.  Well that is a fascinating charade.  There is nothing in the democrat observers book of taxes that has the slightest thing at all to do with fairness or equal taxation.  The tax code serves two purposes to liberals.  First, it feeds the endless growth of government by milking every teat it can get it’s hands on until they are raw.   Second, it is always wielded as a weapon in the epic battle of class and income warfare.  Where the lower income earners in any class are rewarded, and those above must be punished, without concern for any other consequences.

 

Mr. Fernald proves this point by capping off his case for “equality” by unbuttoning his rhetorical trousers and showing us his backside; he reminds us parenthetically that the democrat run  legislature is actually working on a bill that would define “reasonable compensation” as if defining compensation is actually a reasonable role of government.

 

 Mr. Fernald clearly believes this appropriate as any proper tax and spender would.  But he ignores reality and the costs associated with any of it just to satisfy his parties ceaseless obsession with finding revenue with which to feed the beast of government.  Put simply, he ignores why the government is seeking more taxes in favor of justifying a statutory taking of someone else’s earning, as if that point has no merit in the debate. 

 

Every penny taxed from any business will appear downstream either in the increased cost of goods and services or, in depressed employment and slow or no wage growth.  Since over 90% of the employers in the state are small businesses, many of them LLC’s, this added expense for growing government will affect the standard of living of a majority of residents.

But Mark Fernald doesn’t really give a damn about that.  He’s content to provide cover for a wasteful unaccountable left wing state agenda (not just by admitting that he too must pay a tax) that spends before it taxes simply because his name comes with a “(D)” after it.   He would just as gladly support an additional reduction in your standard of living (sales tax, income tax, any tax) if it added to the state treasury, so government can grow at its own pleasure, regardless of your ability to pay for it, completely indifferent to the impact it might have on your life. 

 

So while Mr. Fernald tries to paint with convincing brush strokes the completed image is nothing new.  It is a portrait of the state house growing larger on the backs of the people of New Hampshire.  And nowhere in his portfolio—or that of any other democrat in New Hampshire it seems–can “fairness” or “equality” equate to lowering someone else’s taxes to achieve parity. 

 

You have to undestand that to democrats, it is not really your money.  It is simply revenue the State has–up to this point–allowed you to keep.  So the idea of shrinking state government, so that the business people and citizens who earned that money might then freely create the kind of growth and opportunity they value for themselves and those around them, has been reduced to a fairy tale told to liberal children at bed time, and to students the unions devotedly convince your democrat legislators to keep trapped in the public schools system.

Shenanigans with the Department of Education; a cadre of lefty legislators is working an end around to get Homeschooling rules implemented that the legislature just failed to pass.  Apparently the will of elected officials and thousands of residents just isn’t good enough.  So having grown weary of the legislative process of (dare I say it?) reform, it is time to take matters into their own hands. 

 

My suggestion to them then, is to get out of the legislating business instead.  Rep. Emma Rous.  Rep Rick Ladd,  Rep. Claire Clarke, Rep Judy Day, Rep. Rachel Burke, Rep. Judith Reever, Rep. Charles B. Yeaton, Rep. Philip R. Harvey, and Rep Kim Casey are the legislators in question, and the most recent piece of evidence of their ill intent is here

Ashooh is in.  Granite Status reports that Rich Ashooh is going to enter the Republican Primary race for CD-1.  Rich knows he has issues to overcome, or so he says.  I don’t know Ashooh from shinola but it looks like he’s been a paid lobbyist.  No one knows who he is.  He’s never seen at or near his local republican committee meetings or active in local politics (though that will have to change) and he’s a fan of the One Campaign which cavorts with UN social justice junkies bent on redistributing American wealth through mandatory taxation. (Yes Indeed!)

 

Does that make him an out of touch, opportunistic, big money, globalist, insider, with no local activist roots, who is now eyeing a new kind of temporal power?  Sure it does.  But this is America.  He’s entitled to all of that and more if he can convince enough voters.

Kelly Ayotte says she is definitely against earmarks—Granite Status again—and the Hodes campaign now claims she’ll say anything to get elected.  I say Hodes is the pot calling the kettle black.  He’s announced he’s against earmarks, but he votes for even one bill with an earmark in it, that “promise” goes up in smoke.  Good luck Representative Hodes.  We’ll be watching to see if you too will say anything to hide your years of fiscal malfeasance.

The ‘current’ administration was none too happy when the big banks started paying back TARP.  There was actually some resistance to the idea of accepting the money at first and the speculation was that if banks paid back TARP, the government would lose a level of control they’d prefer to keep.  But I think they came to some kind of agreement.

 

That’s why we now have the same government trying to capitalize “main Street Banks.” They are claiming that this will help smaller banks provide money for loans for small businesses on main street.  But my cynicism leads me to a different conclusion.  I think Obama wants to sink the governments claws into every other bank in America that will allow it.  The goal is to shackle them with the same regulations they’ve been trying to to strap onto every other financial institution only smaller banks lack the institutional girth to fight it off.  So the long term goal could be to take them over, systematically declare them stressed, (or incapable of paying back taxpayers) and either closing them up or selling them off to the big banks.

 

You remember those big banks?  The ones that donate gobs of cash to democrats like Paul Hodes, and powerful figures like Mr. Obama.  The ones that were once called home by at least a dozen White House insiders?  Those banks.  They’d like nothing more than to have more deposits, and be rid of these pesky little competitors.

 

Yeah, I know, it sounds conspriatorial.  But the government hijacked the student loan industry, owns most of the mortage industry, bought out most of the American Auto industry, has its eyes on energy and health care–just how hard it to imagin them making a deal with the big banks to take out the little banks and leave them the pieces?
