The ‘Other’ Weiner

Image courtesy of "The Other McCain"I realize Obama picked Sargent (Debbie Wasserman) Schultz to head the DNC to distract us with her inane and insane nonsense so that we would spend less time looking at his own.  But if you are going for distraction, a congressman named Weiner is hard to beat.
Talk about sucking all the air out of the news cycle.

So one more time into the briefs then?  How about with a tinge of culture to lift us above the groundlings, if only slightly?

Before A. Weiner (D- Twitterville), or more likely before during and after he was tweeting his wiener, the congressman played at advocating for women.   We can see this other Weiner over at The Other McCain (via Instapundit) where they have a great piece of reporting on A. Weiner’s objection to a Statue; The Triumph of Civic Virtue.
“I believe in art, I believe in public art…But that doesn‘t mean that we don’t have a right to say, forcefully, some art is simply offensive to us and we think it should go.”
The Statue is an allegorical representation of man overcoming the sirens of virtue and corruption.  Simply put, Weiner is claiming it is a bit sexist and should hidden from sight. (Talk about irony.)

I’m thinking he just wanted to eliminate any competition.

After all, he could have just put the statue in a giant vat of urine and it would have gone from “simply offensive to us” (us being A. Weiner) to ‘protected free speech.’
Instead we get an arrogant hypocrite, who probably believes that he is the allegorical warrior, who has blessed them with twitpics of his naughty bits.
