Blue is not my best color

Some day I expect my daughter to date someone simply because I don’t care for them all that much.  Well in 2006 the voters of New Hampshire did something similar.  They gave both State Houses to the Democrats.  They elected two Democrat Reps to congress.  And we still have a Democrat governor.  I haven’t seen this many “D’s” in one place since my Freshman year in High School.

And I have to be honest, the pain is quite similar.

They keep trying to manage every aspect of my life with tedious regulations.   My allowance is getting smaller (from all the increases in State fees).  And to top it all off, now they are telling me we don’t have enough money in the family budget.

With a looming 100 million dollar deficit in the midst of an economic slowdown,  it doesn’t take an Independent to see where this is going; bigger deficits, more fees, and yes, taxes.

But history holds the answer.  With very few exceptions, the answer to any government deficit or spending problem is almost always fewer Democrats.

Now I am not condoning a 180 degree flip.  I do not believe we should hand the entire mechanism over to any one party.  But two years of flirting with a democrat majority has me feeling Blue.   I’m tired of dating someone who always expects me to pay, never gives anything back, could care less what I think, and is only going to keep asking for more.

This relationship is over.
